Shanxi, South Korea seek cooperation in food industry

The 2022 South Korea-China Shanxi Food Industry Cooperation and Exchange Promotion Conference was held on June 8.

The conference was jointly organized by the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce, the Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, and the Korea International Exhibition Center.

Ten food trade companies from North China's Shanxi province and South Korea attended the conference. 

Taking full advantage of the offline 2022 Seoul International Food Exhibition, the promotional conference selected Shanxi companies involved in Fenjiu liquor, mature vinegar, daylily and wheaten food products to carry out online business matchmaking with companies in South Korea. 

At the meeting, Gu Jinsheng, minister counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in South Korea, and Yin Weiyu, president of the China Chamber of Commerce in South Korea, delivered speeches.

They hoped that the conference would present an opportunity to explore new cooperation potential between South Korea and Shanxi, further explore the cooperation and prospects of the two sides in the cross-border food trade industry, and jointly create greater opportunities for the economic and trade development of China and South Korea. 

According to Yang Chunquan, director of the Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, over the past years, Shanxi and South Korea have carried out close exchanges and cooperation in government affairs, economy, trade, culture, tourism, agriculture, and environmental protection.

He said that Shanxi is willing to work with South Korea to promote cooperation in the food industry, further deepen trade and investment cooperation, and promote common development and prosperity.
