Shanxi flashes cultural charm at expo in East China

North China's Shanxi province promoted its cultural tourism projects and cultural creative products at the 2023 Cultural Trade Investment and Finance Expo held in Hefei, East China's Anhui province, on Sept 8-10. 

Capitalising on the expo, Shanxi organized a Shanxi Brands China Tour, showcasing a wide range of brands in the wine, medicine, vinegar, arts and crafts, folk customs, and food sectors, as well as products from the province's 10 major distinctive industries.

At the province's exhibition area, Shanxi Culture and Tourism Investment Holding Group Co placed a strong emphasis on scenic area operations, health and wellness services, six major performing arts categories, and showed visitors 15 unique cultural tourism and health projects, as well as over 50 special cultural creative products. 

"Our participation aims to promote the cultural and tourism resources of Shanxi, and showcase the achievements of Shanxi's cultural and tourism development," said Li Tangsuo, vice-chairman of the company.

The exhibition by the Shanxi Craft Industry Alliance consisted of six sections, arts and crafts masters' performances, and live demonstrations by intangible cultural heritage inheritors, allowing visitors to experience the charm of Shanxi's culture and traditional craftsmanship. 

Wang Xiu, vice-chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, expressed hope the expo would promote Shanxi's cultural heritage in the form of cultural products and facilitate more cultural trade for the province.
