Shanxi leads development of hydrogen industry in China

The annual Shanxi Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Index, released during the 2023 Taiyuan Energy Low Carbon Development Forum held in Taiyuan on Sept 6-8, showed that North China's Shanxi province ranks second in China with a comprehensive index of 285.05. 

Among the 11 cities across the province, Lyuliang ranks first with a score of 393.58.

In the first half of 2023, Shanxi built and put into operation 22 hydrogen refueling stations, surpassing the national average of 11.17. 

There were 768 fuel cell vehicles in the province, exceeding the national average of 501.3.

From January to July, 19 policies supporting the development of the hydrogen energy industry were introduced. There were 17 fuel cell vehicle companies, with business operations covering hydrogen production, storage and transportation, hydrogen refueling, finished fuel cell vehicles, systems, power cells, bipolar plates, and vehicle operation.
