Agricultural products trade expo opens in Shanxi

The 8th China (Shanxi) Agricultural Products Trade Expo opened at the Jinyang Lake International Convention Center in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on Sept 26.

At the opening ceremony, officials from the provincial government presented certificates and medals to the winners of the "Top 10 Farmers in Shanxi Province in 2023" and the first "Agricultural Harvest Award for 2023."

More than 1,700 companies from over 10 provinces and autonomous regions including Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia, and Inner Mongolia are participating in the expo.

With 15 exhibition areas displaying products and selling specialty items, the expo is showcasing over 8,000 varieties of goods and produce in 20 categories, including grains and oils, fruits and vegetables, brewing products, and beverages. 

The Shanxi Provincial Comprehensive Exhibition Zone, the exhibition areas for 11 cities in Shanxi, and the Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Exhibition Zone are all demonstrating the new technologies, products, and achievements in the high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas in Shanxi.

The expo will last until Sept 29. During its run, 11 theme-based promotional activities for cities and counties have been organized.
