International journalists visit Shanxi

An international delegation of journalists consisting of 27 reporters from 25 countries, including Pakistan, India, Argentina, Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Egypt, and Hungary, visited North China's Shanxi province from Oct 19 to 22.

The delegation toured Shanxi Ruiguang Thermal Power Co, Taiyuan Heavy Industry Group, and Qixian Honghai Glass Co, to learn about Shanxi's achievements in participating in the Belt and Road Initiative and building a new inland hub for open development.

"Over the 10 years of the Belt and Road Initiative, China and Pakistan have had a lot of cooperation and exchanges in terms of the economy and education, providing over 200,000 job opportunities for Pakistan. We hope for even better exchanges in the future," said Muhammad Zamir Assadi, a journalist from Independence News Pakistan. 

The delegation also visited UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites, famous ancient buildings, exemplary rural development projects, and live performances, noodle-making demonstrations, intangible cultural heritage performances, and agricultural product exhibitions in the province. 

The journalists recounted their impressions of Shanxi's rich cultural heritage, picturesque rural areas, friendly people, and remarkable achievements in transformation and development.
