Shanxi launches annual winter travel products, routes

The Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism recently launched its 2023 winter tourism products and themed tour routes to further stimulate winter tourism across Shanxi province.

The series of winter tourism products include 10 popular folk destinations, 10 locations for festive events, 10 skiing destinations, 10 hot spring wellness resorts, and 10 cultural and educational sites.

The themed tour routes focus on winter sightseeing, the study of intangible cultural heritage, family tours, ancient city exploration, and Shanxi's top tourist picks.

Popular destinations to experience traditional folk customs:

Taiyuan, Datong, Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Yangquan, Jinzhong, Lyuliang, Jincheng, Linfen, and Yuncheng.

Festive events: 

The Qingxu International Fireworks Festival in Taiyuan, the China Datong Ice and Snow Festival, the Shuozhou Ice and Snow Tourism Season, Xinzhou's Pianquan Ice Sculpture Art Festival, Yangquan Huabei Yifeng Ecological Park's Ice and Snow Festival, Jinzhong's Xiaoxigou Ice and Snow Carnival, the Xiaoyi Caoxihe Happy City Ice and Snow Carnival in Lyuliang, Changzhi's Tongtian Valley Ice and Snow Carnival, Jincheng's Taihang Xiyagou Dragon-themed Cultural Tourism Festival, and the Guan Gong Traditional Culture Festival in Yuncheng.
