Shanxi residents enjoy 17,069 free cultural shows in 2023

Shanxi province carried out 17,069 free performances in local villages in 2023, bringing cultural feasts of drama, dance, and music to communities.

This is an important initiative by the province to enhance the cultural lives of local residents.

Provincial-level troupes such as the Shanxi Provincial Song and Dance Theater, Shanxi Jinju Opera Theater, and Shanxi Peking Opera Theater, as well as city and county-level troupes, meticulously planned and presented their performances. 

The performances focused on out-of-poverty areas and areas related to the revolutionary history of the Communist Party of China, and served local economic development.

Some 8 million residents enjoyed the performances free of charge last year.
