Shanxi works through political advisers' proposals

The 13th Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) – the top political advisory body in Shanxi province – collected 1,123 proposals from members of the 13th CPPCC Shanxi Committee in 2023, with 81.2 percent of those proposals already filed and handled. 

Among the 912 handled proposals, 263 were related to the transformation of the province's resource-based economy, energy revolution and high-quality development. 

The number of filed and handled proposals on innovation reached 155, and they were mainly concerned with promoting science and technology, education, talent cultivation and innovation-driven development. 

The proposals related to people's livelihood and improving living standards totaled 246. 

Over 90 handled proposals focused on optimizing the local business environment, deepening reform and building an inland hub for opening-up. 

In addition, 78 proposals were related to ecological development issues and 62 focused on new-type urbanization, rural vitalization, and the integration of culture and tourism. 

These proposals were handled through consultation, providing an important reference for the provincial Party committee and the provincial government to promote relevant work.
