Shanxi shines at women's giant slalom event

The athlete delegation from Shanxi province secured one gold, one silver and one bronze medals at the women's giant slalom event of the 14th National Winter Games, which took place on Feb 2 in Beijing.  

During the event, athletes glided down a course with a vertical drop measuring in at 274 meters. They had to maneuver through 32 gates and 31 turns along the designated route, racing towards the finish line at top speed. Athletes Zhang Yuying, Ni Yueming, and Wang Meixia, who were jointly trained by Shanxi and Heilongjiang provinces, clinched the top three spots, with Zhu Tianhui finishing in fifth place.
