Shanxi updates annual plan for high-end equipment manufacturing

The Shanxi Department of Industry and Information Technology recently released its 2024 plan for the development of its high-end equipment manufacturing industry chain. 

According to the plan, by the end of 2024, Shanxi aims to reach a revenue of over 95 billion yuan ($13.2 billion) through its high-end equipment manufacturing industry. It will also strive to achieve an industry growth rate of 12 percent. 

The plan specifies seven tasks, including enhancing innovation capabilities, conducting investment and exchange activities, and accelerating the construction of key projects in the industry chain. 

For instance, Shanxi will focus on areas such as rail transportation, intelligent coal mining machinery, and construction machinery, aiming to break through core technological bottlenecks in the high-end equipment manufacturing sector. 

Shanxi also plans to develop investment attraction plans for the industry chain, identify two key demonstration development zones or parks, target leading enterprises in the industry chain and their upstream and downstream supporting enterprises, and carry out targeted investment promotions. 

Furthermore, the province will establish and review the status of ongoing, planned, and reserved projects in the industry chain. It will also implement dynamic management systems and track project progress.
