Shanxi to lead energy revolution

Shanxi province is set to fully develop into a pilot zone for comprehensive energy reform by the end of this year. 

During the 2024 provincial energy work conference, which was held on Feb 25, the province announced that it will focus on six key tasks, including energy security, smart energy, and green and low-carbon transformation. 

In order to ensure energy supply, efforts will be made to accelerate the establishment of smart coal mines, comprehensively construct smart electricity facilities, and advance the construction of smart gas fields.

With a focus on green and low-carbon transformation, the province will promote green coal mining practices, promote energy efficiency and carbon reduction in the power sector, and implement greening and emission reductions in the oil and gas industry. It also aims to enhance the utilization of waste heat and place emphasis on controlling coal consumption and coal waste.
