Shanxi holds World Wildlife Day promotion event

The Shanxi Forestry and Grassland Bureau organized a promotional event for "World Wildlife Day" at Binhe Park in Wenshui county, North China's Shanxi province, on March 2. 

Under the theme "Building a Smart Protection System for Wildlife", the event aimed to further enhance awareness of wildlife protection, strengthen biodiversity conservation, and promote the digitalization of wildlife protection. 

In recent years, Shanxi has strengthened its wildlife protection protocols by conducting surveys and enhancing habitat conservation work. The province has initiated the construction of a wildlife data platform, improved related regulations and systems, and updated species lists, achieving significant results. 

The province is now home to 2,743 wild plant species, with 32 under national protection and 82 under provincial protection. As for wild animals, there are 541 species that call this province home, with 110 under national protection and 165 under provincial protection.
