Shanxi suggests building a new-type energy system

During the two sessions, the Shanxi delegation to the National People's Congress jointly made a suggestion to support the construction of a new-type energy system in Shanxi province.

This plan was created based on the province's abundant coal resources, and once operational, it will promote the green transformation of the energy industry and accelerate the development of new quality productive forces in the energy sector.

Shanxi, as a comprehensive reform pilot province for energy reform, has significantly contributed to the establishment of a modern industrial system that helps ensure national energy security. 

The province's achievements are evident in its robust and secure energy supply, accelerated development of new and renewable energy sources, continuous improvement in energy consumption patterns, and the achievements resulting from the province's energy revolution pilot program.

However, Shanxi still faces multiple challenges in building a new-type energy system, namely, a lack of more policy support for energy structure adjustment, the gradual weakening of sustainable energy security, the lagged adaptation to the future energy development trends, and the difficulty of load shedding due to the burden of distributed renewable energy systems.

Therefore, to build up a new-type energy system requires more policy support at the national level. Especially in terms of promoting the increase in coal production to ensure supply, digitizing grids to promote the development of new quality productive forces, coordinating the development of conventional power sources and new energy sources, as well as achieving the scientific and orderly development of distributed new energy via marketization.
