With the Qingming Festival holiday approaching, North China's Shanxi province is launching a variety of local tours to enrich the travel experiences of visitors.

Some local scenic spots are working to offer a wide range of interactive and experiential activities that integrate traditional Qingming folk customs.

From March 28 to April 3, the 7th Fenjiu Apricot Blossom Festival was carried out at Fenjiu Cultural Park in Lyuliang city. The event, held amid hundreds of apricot blossoms in the park, featured ancient-style performances that recreate prosperous scenes from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in Xinghuacun town. Visitors also enjoyed over 20 kinds of performances, including hanfu clothing parades, worship rites, and poetic exchanges.

During the holiday, the Zhangbi Fortress scenic spot in Jinzhong city will launch an interactive activity titled "shooting willow". Originating from the Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-256 BC), this traditional archery game is one of the ancient customs of the Qingming Festival.

An official of the scenic spot stated that Zhangbi Fortress has held this event during the Qingming Festival for two consecutive years.

Throughout history, flying kites has been a highlight of the Qingming Festival. This year, during the holiday, some scenic spots will launch kite-themed activities. From April 1 to 7, the House of the Huangcheng Chancellor in Jincheng city will host a kite-stunt festival. A professional kite team will be on site to present an impressive kite stunt show for visitors.
