Luya Mountain Scenic Spot is mainly distributed in Ningwu County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, spans five counties (Ningwu, Shenchi, Wuzhai, Kelan and Jingle) and three mountains (Guancen, Luya and Yunzhong).
It is the origin of five rivers, including the Fenhe river, the Sanggan River, the Yangwu River, the Lanyi River and Zhujiangchuan River. It is named for its “reed bud”-like shape. The Luya Mountain at the elevation of 2739m is the highest peak among the lofty mountains and steep hills. It has ridges and peaks rising one after another, has more than 200 mountains of different sizes, criss-cross gullies, up and down cliffs, gurgling brooks and more than 30 waterfalls.
The Luya Mountain covers ten series of tourist products of “mountains, stones, forest, grass, caves, lakes, spring, gorges, temples and passes”, and the existing scenic spots include: 10-thousand-year ice cave, Shimen cliff coffin, trestle road along cliff, origin of the Fenhe River, Lover Gorge, Malun grassland, Luya Mountain, Ningwu Heaven Pool, etc.
