Jeollanam-do Parliamentary Delegation Visits Shanxi

From May 23 to 25, a delegation led by Lee Yong-Jae, the Speaker of Jeollanam-do and Lee Min-Jun, Deputy Speaker of Jeollanam-do paid a friendly visit to Shanxi.

Luo Huining, Secretary of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and also gave a brief introduction to the social and economic development of Shanxi in recent years. He said that, Shanxi and Jeollanam-do have witnessed frequent non-governmental exchange and carried out fruitful cooperation since the tie was established in 2007. He also hoped that the two sides can bring into full play the comparative advantages and deepen the cooperation in all areas. Lee Yong-Jae expressed gratitude for the considerate arrangement and also recognized remarkable economic development achieved by Shanxi in recent years. He also hoped that the two sides can further strengthen ties and realize win-win cooperation. After the meeting, Guo Yingguang, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, signed the MoU with Lee Min-Jun on the exchange and cooperation between Shanxi and Jeollanam-do. Leaders of the relevant authorities, including Wu Shaozhong, Director of Shanxi Foreign Affairs Office, also attended the meeting.

During the stay in Shanxi, the delegation also visited Changzhi City in the presence of Liang Shujuan, Deputy Director of Shanxi Foreign Affairs Office. Yang Qinrong, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Changzhi, met the delegation and shared views on the issues, such as non-governmental exchange, cultural tourism, photovoltaic industry and new energy cooperation. During the meeting, three representatives of the National People’s Congress from Huaibei Community, Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and schools in Lu’an District also engaged in the discussion. The delegation also paid a visit to Lu’an Solar Technology Co., Ltd when in Changzhi.
