A Governmental Delegation from Goias Visits Shanxi

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, a delegation led by Lincoln Graziani Pereira da Rosa, Deputy Governor of Goias of Brazil, visited Shanxi from May 30 to 31, 2019. During their visit to Xinzhou, the two sides signed a memorandum on establishing sister city ties between Xinzhou and Goias.

On May 30, Li Junming, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress and Secretary of Xinzhou Municipal Party Committee, met the delegation in the presence of Cui Jianxin, Member of the Municipal Standing Committee and Secretary-General of Xinzhou Municipal Party Committee, and An Shutian, Deputy Mayor of Xinzhou. Li Junming was excited to hear that the two cities are willing to become a sister city to each other and also congratulated on the signing of the memorandum on sister city cooperation. It means a new beginning for the two cities seeking more possibilities for cooperation and exchange. As time goes on, the two cities will surely open a new chapter for the friendly cooperation between China and Brazil. Lincoln Graziani Pereira da Rosa also expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception of Xinzhou, which is a city with great potential for development. It will be an honor to forge sister city ties with Xinzhou. Xinzhou can offer much valuable experience in such fields as energy, traffic, culture and education to Goias. He hoped that the two sides can make joint efforts to deepen the in-depth cooperation in the areas such as energy, talent and scientific research and the two cities will become sister cities in the near future.

During their visit, the delegation also visited Shanxi Coking Coal Group and Shanxi Xinzhou Shenda Energy Group, Mr. Qin Jie, Deputy Director of Shanxi Foreign Affairs Office, attended the relevant activities.
