Rail operator in Shanxi facilitates Spring Festival travel rush

China Railway Taiyuan Group Co which is responsible for railway passenger and freight transportation in North China's Shanxi province has launched 30 measures to facilitate smooth rail transportation during the 2022 Spring Festival travel rush from Jan 17 to Feb 25.

During the 40-day travel rush, the number of passengers sent by China Railway Taiyuan Group Co is expected to reach 6.05 million. The passenger flow is mainly concentrated in Taiyuan before Spring Festival which falls on Feb 1, and concentrated in the cities of Taiyuan, Datong, Lyuliang, Linfen, Yuncheng, and Xinzhou after the festival.

The company has adjusted its transportation capacity to meet the needs of the majority of passengers, especially students and migrant workers while taking into consideration the epidemic prevention and control.

During the period, the company will add 57 temporary passenger trains, including high-speed trains from Taiyuan to Tianjin, Chengdu, Xi'an, and Liuzhou, as well as high-speed and general-speed trains from Taiyuan to other cities in the province.

In addition, to provide better transportation services for the coming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the number of high-speed trains from Datong South Railway Station to Beijing North Railway Station will be added.
