The China (Shanxi)-Uzbekistan Economic and Trade Investment Cooperation Exchange Conference was jointly held by the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in China on April 12 in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province.

Adhering to the Belt and Road Initiative, this event aims to establish a platform for promoting economic and trade exchanges between China and Uzbekistan, achieving win-win results in a broader range of fields.

In recent years, fruitful outcomes have been achieved through China-Uzbekistan cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. Uzbekistan, located in the core area of Central Asia, represents an important node on the Silk Road Economic Belt. It is abundant in natural resources, and displays strong momentum for development. Its import and export volume with Shanxi has rapidly increased in recent years, with a year-on-year growth of 280.21 percent in 2023.

During the conference, China and Uzbekistan presented their business environments, economic development, advantageous industries, investment attraction policies, and other aspects. Representatives and entrepreneurs from various regions and government departments of Uzbekistan participated in this exchange event.

Li Haiyuan, president of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of CCPIT, stated that in recent years, exchanges and cooperation between Shanxi and Uzbekistan have become increasingly frequent. Their collaboration in agriculture, healthcare, modern logistics, and other areas has continued to deepen, indicating enormous potential for economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.

He also expressed his hope that this conference will become an opportunity for further solidifying and deepening industrial match-making as well as trade and investment cooperation between Shanxi and Uzbekistan.
