Jin Xiangjun Meets with Uzbekistan Ambassador Farhod Arziev

On April 12th, Governor Jin Xiangjun met with Ambassador Farhod Arziev of Uzbekistan and Anvar Davletov, Vice governor of Khorezm Region in Taiyuan. Vice Governor Tang Zhiping attended the meeting. 

Jin Xiangjun extended a warm welcome to the guests and briefly introduced Shanxi’s economic and social development. He pointed out that Shanxi, in line with the significant mission entrusted by President Xi Jinping, is steadfastly advancing the transformation of its resource-dependent economy, implementing energy reforms, fostering the growth of new quality productive forces, embracing an opening-oriented development philosophy, actively integrating into the Belt and Road Initiative, and vigorously promoting international cooperation and exchange with international sister cities. These efforts highlight Shanxi’s commitment to composing a chapter of modernization in Shanxi with Chinese characteristics and building a new hub for opening-up in inland areas.

Governor Jin Xiangjun said that over the recent years, guided by the strong leadership and personal support of the leaders of both nations, China-Uzbekistan relations have entered a phase of rapid development. Shanxi values its relationship with Uzbekistan, implementing agreements made by both countries' leaders and making strides in cooperation. Ambassador Arziev's visit presents an opportunity to strengthen communication, enhance mutual understanding, and deepen collaboration in various sectors under the Belt and Road framework, including trade, logistics, and cultural exchanges.

Ambassador Arziev praised Shanxi's achievements in reform and development and agreed with Governor Jin Xiangjun’s cooperative initiative. He said that Shanxi's long history and splendid culture are very impressive. He expressed aspiration for deepened cooperation and expanded exchanges between the two sides. He said that Uzbekistan is willing to build ties with Shanxi and further the practical cooperation in energy, industry, logistics, trad, culture, tourism, science, education, and more.
