Xinghuacun Fenjiu (Fenyang City)

Fenyang City is the largest base of Fen-flavored baijiu in China and one of China's famous cities of baijiu. Xinghua Village has a baijiu-making history of more than 6,000 years. As early as 1,500 years ago during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Fenjiu was highly praised by Emperor Wucheng of the Northern Qi as a royal wine, and was recorded in the Twenty-Four Histories. The poet Du Mu of the late Tang Dynasty made Fenjiu a household name with his poem reading "Where can a wineshop be found to drown his sad hours? A cowherd points to a cot 'mid apricot flowers (Xinghuacun)". In the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition, Fenjiu won a gold medal, becoming one and only Chinese baijiu brand with this honor. In 1949, Fenjiu and Chu Yeh Ching were used at the first session of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the wine for the state banquet after the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China. In 2006, the distilling technique of Xinghuacun Fenjiu was included in the first batch of the China Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Fenjiu is not only an outstanding representative of Chinese famous baijiu, but also the national standard setter of Fen-flavor baijiu. Fenjiu, with its profound culture history, long distilling history, exquisite distilling technique and superior quality, is known as the founder of the Chinese baijiu industry, the torchbearer who inherits the Chinese baijiu culture, the textbook of Chinese baijiu distilling technology, and the living fossil witnessing the history of Chinese baijiu development. It is also the source of Chinese liquor, the originator of Fen-flavor baijiu, and the root of Chinese wine culture, and lives up to the reputation of the essence of Chinese liquor. Fenyang owns four Famous Trademarks of China, namely, "Fen", "Chu Yeh Ching", "Xing Hua Cun", and "Fen Yang Wang", and is listed in the “World Top Ten Spirit Producing Areas" and the “World Features Liquor Regions".
